Mental Health Apartment Program Overview
The Mental Health Apartment Program (MHAP) provides treatment apartments for individuals with persistent mental illness who are able to live more independently than a group home environment allows. Since 1971, the MHAP mission has been to serve clients and create a climate that will foster their inclusion, respect, celebration, problem solving, connection, participation and integration into the community as a whole.
The MHAP treatment apartment locations (54 beds) are conveniently located at Manhattan Square, Greece Commons, Rowley Street, Manor Parkway, East Avenue and Pinnacle Place.
Restorative services offered through the Mental Health Apartment Program include but are not limited to:
- One-to-one counseling
- Financial case management
- Medication management
- Support groups including peer to peer
- Healthy living skills
- Independent living skills
- Vocational assessment and training
- Social Outings
All MHAP residents are admitted after going through Monroe County’s Single Point of Access and upon completion of an evaluation by East House’s Admissions Coordinator. For more information in referrals, click here.
