East House has a mix of community residences for individuals in recovery from mental illness which are licensed through the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and substance use disorder which are licensed through the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). All community residences have staff onsite 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Clients at the residences receive rehabilitative support, medication management, recovery services, care coordination and vocation and education services. Opened in 1976, Blake was East House’s second group home for individuals with substance use disorder. Blake House was named after John L. Blake, who served as an East House board member from 1973 until 1988.
